About Me

Chi Kit Wong
Product Design & Management

With a passion for design, love for technology, I started off my design career as a Multimedia Designer at Charles & Keith. Worked closely with the marketing team, I’m responsible for the design and development of the website and Facebook apps, the production of campaign videos, and the reports on traffic analytics to determine the effectiveness of our marketing effort. Through survey and analytics we got to understand our customers behaviour and needs, and further improve the experience we are providing. Contributed to a three-fold traffic increase on multiple channels.

I was promoted shortly to Senior Designer. Spearheaded the ecommerce site. Built and piloted on Magento enterprise ecommerce platform. Balancing fashion trend with multimedia technology, to provide an enjoyable experience to all customers on all digital mediums. Lead a team of junior designers to manage projects and to advance on their career path. Worked closely with the marketing and the R&D departments, playing an influential role to the campaign marketing.

I’ve learnt a lot in a short time at this fashion retail SME, and was offered a prospective role in their expansion into the China market, but I received an opportunity to join a MNC, InterContinental Hotel Group, as an Enterprise Solution Specialist, as they were expanding their digital team in Asia.

The role opened me to the business side of things. Ascertained the business owners’ needs and requirements, analysed and designed cross-platform corporate and hotel employee solutions. Performed research, built use cases, and did presentations for buy-ins. Produced wireframes, mockups, and prototypes for testing and checking of user flow. Worked with stakeholders to implement global standards and best practices. Managed vendors on regional and global projects. Provided consultation on products’ user interface and experience and advised on creative direction.

One of the products I’ve launched was a critical app for the finance team. It literally helped the company save million of dollars, told by the vice-president.

I’m now with the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), as they expand on digital front and focus on productisation of researches and concepts.

I lead the design of products to facilitate discussion with internal and external stakeholders. Increase capability showcase for the institute to potential clients. Manage vendors and work with stakeholders to bring design to production. Plan and perform user research and implement user centred design. Conduct internal workshops on ideation, design sprint, and design thinking. Evaluate product designs and recommend improvements. I also share design practices and methodologies with product teams.

Concurrently, I joined an A*STAR spin-off startup, managing product design and development. Going beyond typical product management scope, I’ve to pitch for funding and juggling with tight resources.
